The "Wspólna Droga" Program has been launched - an initiative implemented by the ERBUD Foundation in cooperation with OEX S.A. As part of the program, five meetings have already taken place, supporting youth from care facilities in preparing for independent living and entering the job market.
Among the workshops held so far, three were conducted by employees of the OEX Group.
The first one focused on financial education - participants learned practical principles of budget management and making responsible financial decisions. The young people particularly appreciated the form of the classes, life examples and the willingness of the presenters to answer nagging questions.
During the next meeting, Jerzy Motz, CEO of OEX S.A., shared his experiences from the beginning of his professional career with the youth. He talked about motivation, difficulties, and challenges he encountered when taking his first steps in business. The meeting quickly evolved into a lively discussion about perseverance, courage in making decisions, and consistency in building one's own career path.
We left the meeting motivated and inspired. The workshop participants were very impressed. It is incredibly important that young people in our program have a chance to discuss the challenges, fears and beliefs associated with entering the job market with people who have such extensive experience in business. - said Agnieszka Tkaczyk, Erbud Foundation
The third meeting was dedicated to recruitment processes. Specialists from ProPeople company conducted workshops during which participants learned the secrets of effective recruitment. The program included identifying one's own competencies, creating a professional CV, and practical exercises in the form of job interview simulations. The experts also shared knowledge about the skills most sought after by employers and provided advice on how to cope with stress during job interviews.
The program will last eight months. During this time, young people, together with their mentors, will participate in workshops on such topics as financial education, personal branding, career path planning and dealing with challenges in the job market.
The ERBUD Foundation has been implementing programs supporting young people from care facilities in transitioning to adulthood for years. Thanks to its efforts, over three hundred foster care graduates have already gained the chance for better education, acquiring a profession, and independence.
